Two days between harbour and Padar: reefs first, ridge last

Two days is the shortest overnight Neptune sells, with five stops in the plan. You leave Labuan Bajo harbour at 10:00 on day one for Taka Makassar and Manta Point, two snorkel stops that can be taken in either order, and the boat anchors off Padar for the night. Day two brings Pink Beach and Komodo Island before the run back to Labuan Bajo.

We present this as an example route. Only the 3D2N has a fixed day-by-day plan, so this route is assembled from the stops that plan names. You agree the sequence with the captain, and weather and tide can change it.

It starts and ends in Labuan Bajo. You are collected from your hotel or Komodo Airport and dropped back at either.

Day one puts the reefs first and the ridge last. You snorkel early, while you are fresh and the sun is high, then climb Padar at the end of the afternoon before the night at anchor.

Five stops are left out of this route, and the last section lists them.

Day 1

What happensHave ready
·Pickup from your hotel or Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo, then to the harbourpassport or ID
10:00On board at Labuan Bajo harbour, departure at 10:00
·Taka Makassarmask and snorkel
·Manta Point, to look for manta raysmask and snorkel
·Padar Islandshoes with grip, hat and water
🌙Night aboard. Where the boat anchors for the night depends on the weather and the captain's decision on the day.

Day 2

What happensHave ready
·Pink Beachreef-safe sunscreen
·Komodo Island, to look for Komodo dragons with a rangerclosed shoes, park ticket
·Back in Labuan Bajo, then to your hotel or the airport

These stops swap order with tide and wind: Manta Point ⇄ Taka Makassar.

Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Pickup is the only promise we make by the clock.

Day one by level: harbour, reef, ridge

Picture the first day as a climb through three levels. You board at 10:00, settle into your cabin, and the boat casts off. The first level is the waterline: Taka Makassar, a sandbar with shallow reef, and Manta Point, where you snorkel in the hope of seeing manta rays. Mantas are frequent there, though not guaranteed. Tide and the captain's judgement decide which of the two comes first.

Next comes the ridge. Padar is the day's climb, so wear shoes that grip and bring a hat and water. It closes the plan, and the boat spends the night anchored off it.

The last level is the open deck. Dinner goes on the long outdoor table, or in the indoor dining room if the weather turns, and afterwards you retire to a cabin with its own balcony, bathroom and hot shower.

Overnight the boat stays at anchor. The captain picks the anchorage with the weather in mind; the 3D2N plan names Padar for the first night.

Day two opens at Pink Beach and ends at Komodo Island

Day two starts at Pink Beach and finishes at Komodo Island, two stops after the three of the day before.

At Pink Beach you land straight from the boat. Fragments of red coral tint the sand pink, and there is coral close to shore for snorkelling. Pack reef-safe sunscreen.

Komodo Island means a walk. The dragons are wild, and you meet them on foot with a park ranger, wearing closed shoes and keeping to the ranger's path. A sighting is never guaranteed.

From there the boat heads back to Labuan Bajo and on to your hotel or the airport. No return time is fixed for a two-day route, so if you have a flight on the last day, ask us before booking it and we will build the plan around it.

Rinca, the other dragon walk, belongs to the longer routes; on this one, Komodo Island is where you walk.

2D1N charter price

Two days and one night on the whole boat cost IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589). That price buys the boat for 1 to 14 guests: six guests pay IDR 23,330,000 (≈ USD 1,431) each, fourteen pay IDR 10,000,000 (≈ USD 613) each.

This route sails with up to 14 guests. A larger party should look at the three-day route, which takes up to 18 with extra beds in the upper cabins.

The price includes the boat and its crew, with fuel and taxes folded into one all-in figure. It also covers three meals a day, coffee and a snack, snorkelling gear, linen and towels, and the transfer between your Labuan Bajo hotel or the airport and the harbour. Billed separately: the Komodo park package, quoted on request for this route; a guide and documentation (on request for a private charter); drinks, tips and card fees. Each extra appears in a written quote first.

Two days cannot be bought as a shared seat; the open trip runs on the 3D2N only.

Adding a night for Kalong, Rinca and Kelor

A single night will not cover the whole park, and this route drops five stops: Sebayur, Kalong, Kelor, Rinca and Manjarite.

Kalong is the biggest loss, because its flying foxes leave the island at dusk and you need a second evening on the water to see them. Rinca, the other dragon walk, goes too, as does Kelor, the short climb that opens the last morning of the three-day route.

If those matter to you, step up to three days, which adds Sebayur, Rinca or Komodo, Kalong, Kelor and Manjarite. Four and five days give Komodo and Rinca a day each.

For a first and only visit to the park, three days show you more. With just one night to spare, two days still take in Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island and a manta stop.

On every route the captain, reading the weather, decides when each stop happens and where the boat anchors.

FAQ

How much does a two-day, one-night Komodo trip cost on Neptune?

The whole boat costs IDR 140,000,000 (≈ USD 8,589) for up to 14 guests, a single price whatever the head count, so six guests pay IDR 23,330,000 (≈ USD 1,431) each. The park package, a guide and documentation, drinks and tips are billed separately, each quoted before it is added.

Where does the boat spend the night on a 2D1N trip?

At anchor. The 3D2N plan names Padar for the first night, and the example route finishes day one there, though the captain chooses the anchorage with the weather. Dinner and breakfast are served aboard, and you sleep in your own cabin with its balcony.

What time does the boat leave Labuan Bajo on day one?

The boat leaves the harbour at 10:00, and a driver collects you from your hotel or Komodo Airport beforehand. On a private charter you can board earlier or later to suit your flights; we agree the time with you before you pay.
