A high-end private boat holiday in Labuan Bajo on Neptune: a 40 m phinisi with seven balcony cabins and seven bathrooms for 14 guests. Three days on the whole boat cost IDR 180,000,000 (≈ USD 11,043), and a Mansard seat on the shared voyage is IDR 14,800,000 (≈ USD 908) per person. Luxury here is a balcony for every pair.
Neptune is 40 m long and 8 m wide, a hull five times as long as it is broad, with a gross tonnage of 260. Spread across 14 guests on the base plan, that comes to just over 17 tonnes of enclosed volume each.
The cabins add the next numbers. There are seven, each with a private balcony and an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower, so on the base plan no bathroom serves more than two guests. All seven list air conditioning.
Then there is water. A 10 t tank is topped up by two water makers producing 9 m³ a day each. Eighteen cubic metres a day among 14 guests is over a thousand litres apiece, which is why nobody rations showers on a long voyage.

Seven doors open onto seven balconies and seven bathrooms. Think of each cabin as a household: a couple, or a family of up to four in an upper cabin, with its own door and its own bathroom.

Each cabin has one double bed. Separate beds exist only as the extra bed in an upper cabin, so friends who want a bed each should ask us before booking.

Check availability · Deluxe (studio)Two proportions are worth keeping in mind: a hull of 40 m by 8 m, and 14 guests aboard. That is 2.9 m of hull per guest before you count the open deck.
Four spaces are listed for sharing. The air-conditioned indoor lounge has sofas and wide glass windows; the indoor dining room a long timber table and windows onto the sea. Out on the open deck stands a second long timber table, and at the bow the foredeck has sunbeds and deck seating.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served aboard, with coffee and a snack in the afternoon. You can eat indoors out of the heat or outside at the long table, and in the evening the weather makes the choice.
Two main engines give a cruising speed of 6 to 10 knots, and two 30 kVA generators supply power. On the three-day route, day one covers three reefs, day two the ridge and Kalong at dusk, day three Kelor and the return.
Put in numbers, that is a boat with room to be alone and room to eat together.
A high-end voyage runs on the sea's terms, and Neptune's plan is built for that.
Mantas are frequent at Manta Point, though not guaranteed, and the dragons on Komodo and Rinca are wild animals met with a ranger.
The captain and the harbour authority judge whether a departure is safe, and the captain, reading the weather, sets the sequence of stops and the anchorage. If a boat cannot sail, you get one of equal or higher class on the same date, or a full refund within 2 days.

You can take these seven balconies in two ways, at two very different prices.
Whole boat: three days and two nights cost IDR 180,000,000 (≈ USD 11,043) for 1 to 14 guests, so fourteen guests pay IDR 12,860,000 (≈ USD 789) each, while a couple pays the same boat price for all of it. Mansard seat: on the shared 3D2N voyage, a place in Mansard I or Mansard II costs IDR 14,800,000 (≈ USD 908) per person with two sharing. You sail with other guests, the seat includes the guide and documentation, and each date is confirmed on WhatsApp before you pay.
Two couples who want the upper level can take both Mansards on the shared sailing and travel alongside others. A family that wants the whole upper level to itself should take the boat.
Seven bathrooms for 14 guests means no bathroom is shared by more than two people. What that measurement removes is the queue for the shower.

Yes. All seven cabins have one double bed, a private balcony and an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower. The only separate beds are the extra beds in Mansard I, Mansard II and the Junior Suite, so ask us before booking if your party needs them.
The whole-boat price covers 14 guests in seven cabins, and 18 is the overnight maximum. Everyone shares the indoor lounge, the dining room, the outdoor table and the foredeck, but each cabin has a balcony of its own.
