Neptune Phinisi

Three generations, seven doors

Updated 4 November 2026

A multi-generation family trip on a private phinisi works when every household has a door of its own. Neptune has seven en-suite cabins, and three take an extra bed. Six relatives on the 4D3N whole boat pay IDR 38,330,000 (≈ USD 2,352) each; fourteen on 3D2N pay IDR 12,860,000 (≈ USD 789).

Plan a family voyage

Three generations, seven doors: a household behind each

A family of three generations is rarely one party. It is a grandmother who wakes at five, parents who want an hour alone after lunch, and children who swim until they are told to stop. Neptune Phinisi gives each household a door: seven cabins, each with its own bathroom, hot shower, air conditioning and balcony.

Fourteen guests pay the boat price, which suits a family of four households with two or three people each. The boat itself is 40 m long, so seven doors have a long hull to share.

Four Deluxe studios sit on the main deck. Three cabins, Mansard I, Mansard II and the Junior Suite, are one level higher. Grandparents who prefer fewer steps sleep on the main deck; a household with two children takes an upper cabin, because only the upper cabins can add a bed.

Sleeping plan: three upper cabins take the extra bed

The sleeping plan has one rule. Every cabin has one double bed, and a second or third place is made only by the extra bed in an upper cabin. Mansard I, Mansard II and the Junior Suite each take an extra bed for one or two guests. The four Deluxe studios take none.

That sets the arithmetic. Seven double cabins sleep 14. The extra beds lift the total to 18 at most overnight, and the whole-boat price adds the extra-person rate for each guest from the fifteenth. A family of 17 therefore needs all three upper cabins set up with extra beds.

Cousins who expect a room of their own should ask before booking. A double bed with a third sleeper on an extra bed is a family arrangement, not a dormitory.

On a shared sailing the same rule applies. A third guest in a Junior Suite pays IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368) for the extra bed.

The extra beds in the three upper cabins could hold more people, but Neptune takes no more than 18 guests overnight.

Children: fares from age three, and where they sleep

Children aged 0 to 2 travel free. From age 3 a child pays the full fare. That rule decides how a family counts itself: a child of three sleeps on a bed and counts as a guest, so a family of 14 with a four-year-old uses the whole base price.

Neptune carries 40 life jackets. Tell us the ages and weights of your youngest guests when you book, and we confirm in writing what is aboard for them before you sail.

Meals are three a day with an afternoon coffee break and a snack. Send us what the youngest guests will eat, and the request goes to the kitchen. A strict dietary need goes to the kitchen in writing, and nothing is certified.

Walks and swims scaled to the slowest member

The walks set the pace, and the captain decides every landing. Komodo and Rinca are ranger-led, and the short route suits a grandfather and a seven-year-old. Kelor is a short hill walk. Padar is the long climb, up wooden steps and loose sections, and anyone can stay aboard while the rest go up.

The snorkel stops are Sebayur, Manta Point, Taka Makassar and Manjarite. The current at Manta Point is strong, so children and weak swimmers wear life jackets and the crew judges every entry. Mantas are frequent there, though not guaranteed.

Trail lengths and timings live on the Komodo and Kelor pages. This page keeps to what changes for a family: you choose which walks to join, and the boat waits.

At noon the open deck and the dining room are the shade you have, and every snorkel ends with a wet child at the cabin door. Keep one dry towel and one hat per child waiting there before the stop.

A three-day family plan

The 3D2N route reads like a plan, level by level. On day 1 the family boards at 10:00, snorkels at Sebayur, Manta Point and Taka Makassar, and eats dinner at anchor off Padar. Day 2 starts with the Padar climb for those who want it, then Pink Beach, the Komodo or Rinca walk and the sunset at Kalong. Day 3 is Kelor, Manjarite and a slow lunch before the return after noon.

For a family with a toddler or a grandparent, 4D3N is the better plan. It adds a day, so the Padar morning and the Komodo walk no longer sit in the same stretch, and the free set-up dinner on the beach lands on the third night.

Stops can change with the weather, and the captain tells the group at breakfast what the day holds. A family that wants a quiet afternoon says so on day 1, and the plan bends around it.

Family prices for six, ten and fourteen

The sum starts from one boat price. Six relatives on the 4D3N whole boat pay IDR 38,330,000 (≈ USD 2,352) each. Ten relatives on 3D2N pay IDR 18,000,000 (≈ USD 1,104). A family of 14 on 3D2N pays IDR 12,860,000 (≈ USD 789), and each guest from 15 to 18 adds IDR 6,000,000 (≈ USD 368).

Children from age 3 count in these figures, since they pay the full fare. A child under three pays nothing.

Beside the boat price sit the park package, a guide and documentation (on request for a private charter), drinks and tips. We state each in a written quote before you pay, so the family sees the whole figure once, not in instalments of surprise.

FAQ

What are the child prices, ages and bed setups on Neptune?

Children aged 0 to 2 travel free. From age 3 a child pays the full fare. Every cabin has one double bed, and an extra bed for one or two guests exists only in Mansard I, Mansard II and the Junior Suite. Tell us the ages before booking.

Is Neptune suitable for grandparents who find stairs hard?

Four Deluxe studios sit on the main deck, so a grandparent can sleep without climbing to the upper level. Tell us about mobility when you book, and we confirm what boarding from the harbour and landing by tender will involve for your party. Padar can be skipped.

Are there life jackets for small children?

Neptune carries 40 life jackets. Send us the ages and weights of the youngest guests, and we confirm in writing what is aboard before you sail. At the current-swept snorkel stops, children wear one, and the crew decides each entry.

Do I confirm a child's allergy with the kitchen before sailing?

Yes. Send the details in writing before sailing, and we pass them to the kitchen. Nothing is certified. A guest with a severe allergy should carry their own medication, and we confirm the arrangement with you ahead of the voyage.
